Eating Your Words For Dinner
I'll admit, I wasn't a huge fan of Native shoes. I appreciate the brand's novel approach to classic footwear silhouettes, but I really just couldn't see myself getting behind them. Then, they up and dropped the Apollo Moc which ended up turning a lot of heads toward the lightweight footwear brand. While we wait for the local drop to happen sometime next year, the rest of the world gets treated to a special hand-dyed collection that includes the Apollo Moc's mid-top brother, the Apollo Chukka.
Utilizing dyeing techniques inspired by the Japanese, this limited edition pack drapes the Apollo Moc in Shibori Grey, the Apollo Chukka goes Shibori Blue, while both silos get a black color up as well. Stores such as KITH, Hypebeast, and Livestock will be carrying them starting November 3. But until the first colorway of the Apollo Mocs release locally, I'll quietly eat my words for dinner and maybe save some for breakfast too.
Check out the rest of the pack after the jump.

Nike Roshe LD-1000
Sneaker mashups can only go two ways. They either look good, or turn out really ugly. Fortunately, the Nike Roshe LD-1000 goes the route of the former. No stranger to being reworked in different materials and construction techniques, the Nike Roshe Run has enjoyed a solid run as a lifestyle sneaker for hardcore sneakerheads and folks simply after something comfortable to have on-feet. At first glance, this mashup gives the Roshe Run a Nike Cortez look, but the other silhouette in the mix is the LD-1000, another Nike classic straight from the archives.
No word on a local release date for just yet, but keep it looked to the blog for any further info. In the meantime, check out more looks after the jump.

Boxfresh 25th Anniversary Capsule Collection
A couple of days ago, UK street fashion brand Boxfresh threw a party at Black Market to celebrate the brand's 25th anniversary. Amidst all the revelry, the brand took the time to introduce a limited capsule footwear collection commemorating the milestone, as well as what else people can expect for their A/W shoe offerings.
In the fickle world of fashion, a brand hitting 25 years is already a massive achievement. Seen most especially in terms of streetwear (which is all the rage amongst the fashion set these days), there's always the challenge of staying true to a brand's core audience while expanding in terms of taste and design sensibilities. You can't get to twenty five years without even the slightest bit of growth, right?
Simply titled "25", Boxfresh's capsule collection straddles that line just fine. Made up of the Aggra, Ashbrooke, and Swich silhouettes, each model in the collection reflects the brand's forward-thinking sensibility in terms of colors and materials such as ripstop nylon and water-resistant suiting fabrics. On the other hand, the presence of slick, understated graphics and athletic "Katashi" outsoles offer a subtle nod to Boxfresh's streetwear beginnings. For those like me who grew up embracing street fashion but suddenly find themselves at the age where you're looking past "loud" and "attention-grabbing" as ways to describe how you dress up, Boxfresh's "25" capsule collection as well as their mainline offerings this season definitely deserve a spot in your footwear rotation.
Check out official shots of the Boxfresh "25" Capsule Collection as well as some of the looks from the Boxfresh A/W Collection after the jump.

Adidas Originals x Italia Independent ZX Flux Collection
To file under interesting co-collaborator choices, Adidas Originals have tied up with eyewear brand Italia Independent on a series of ZX Flux sneakers. Separated into two packs, the "Print" pack utilizes the original ZX Flux silhouette to showcase a loud assortment of camouflage and zebra printed uppers. On the other hand, the "NPS" pack tweaks the ZX Flux NPS model with woven uppers made of ballistic materials done up in subtle color schemes.
There's no confirmation on whether both packs will be releasing locally, but local retailer The SneakPeek has confirmed that the "Print" pack will be dropping in their stores very soon.
Jordan Brand x Slam Dunk Collection
The show may have ended its run a long time ago, but the folks at Jordan Brand are gearing up to write an all-new chapter in Sakuragi's story through a collection of apparel and basketball footwear. Fans of the series will delight in the apparel that mixes cues from both brands, while sneakerheads will surely take notice of the Jordan Super Fly 3 and Air Jordan 6 models that both come with reflective prints from the manga on their uppers. Look for the collection to drop locally as a Titan exclusive.

New Balance 740 "Worthy Express"
Longtime Laker fans know all about the "Showtime" Era of the eighties. The easy generalization is to say that Magic and Kareem dominated, but anyone who's well-versed in basketball history knew just how vital James Worthy was to the Purple and Gold.
Big Game James signed on with New Balance in 1985, and in return, they gave him a shoe primed for the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood hardcourt. It marked the first time New Balance made a signature shoe for an athlete, and after almost thirty years, the "Worthy Express" 740 makes its way back to retail.
Coming back with as close to original build quality as possible, these 740s will certainly be a hit among Laker fans. Two colorways comprise the initial release, a simple black and white, as well as a white and purple look. Anyone interested should move fast though, as limited supply is only available at New Balance Glorietta and Alabang Town Center.

Adidas Originals ZX Flux Tech "Nordic" Pack
Whatever wave the Adidas ZX Flux is riding right now isn't showing any signs of crashing as this pack turned up when I was checking out sneaker stores last night. Retooling the ZX Flux silhouette with an adizero adios performance outsole, these particular ZX Flux Techs splay intricate Nordic patterns on their uppers. One weaves a mix of red, black, white, and navy for a standout look, while those who favor more subdued looks can take delight in a dominantly grey makeup that's no less compelling.
Pick up your pairs at sneaker stores such as Urban Athletics. Check out more looks after the jump.

Vans x Star Wars goes to the Dark Side
Following the release of their previous collaboration, Vans and Star Wars team up once again on another capsule collection of apparel, accessories, and classic footwear. Drawing inspiration this time from the Dark Side of The Force, silhouettes such as the Authentic, Era, Sk8-Hi, and Slip-On feature prints ranging from Stormtrooper helmets, Darth Vader, and a battle on Hoth.
In addition to the collection, Vans customs will be making a couple of Star Wars prints available for fans to further customize their shoes to their liking.
The collection dropped October 1. But with the warm reception the first collection received from local Vans collectors, hopefully local concept stores will have them on shelves soon. Check out the entire collection after the jump.
