Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather

Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar's collaborative effort with Reebok was one of the surprising releases of last year. Aside from the concept of uniting gang violence between the Crips and Bloods, last year's drop turned out some really sick looking shoes. This time around, the same concept and color schemes can be found on another shoe from the Reebok classic archive - the Classic Leather. If you're feeling the love, or if you missed out on the first shoe, pick up a pair this Saturday at Sole Academy.

Reebok Crossfit Nano Pump Fusion

By this time, a good chunk of you should have an idea about CrossFit - the fitness training method that combines weightlifting, gymnastics, and occasionally throwing up. Well, Reebok's had their name in that scene for a while now by pumping out sneakers specifically designed for the demands of the different activities CrossFit brings together. The latest model to hit local stores is the Reebok Crossfit Nano Pump Fusion - trainers that finally bring the brand's iconic Pump technology for a custom fitting shoe that'll last no matter what the WOD (that's workout of the day for the rest of us regular mortals). They'll also look pretty good even if you're just figuring out what a box jump is. Pick up a pair now at a Reebok or a Royal Sporting House near you. 

Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Ventilator

Critically acclaimed Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar announced he was tying up with Reebok a while back. His first drop was a pretty loud take on the classic Reebok Ventilator running shoe. This time around, the shoe choice stays the same, but instead of a day-glo colorway, a subtle off-white serves as the base for the collaboration. Gum soles and contrast laces add a touch of class, while both the rapper's name and his label's branding take a prominent spot on the tongue of each shoe. However, the clincher of all details can be found at the heel, where the words "BLUE" and "RED" can be found. It's an symbolism for the gang culture prevalent in the rapper's native city, while the tonal colorway serves as an interpretation of trying to be neutral to it all. Quite a banger, yet pretty deep. Much like many a Kendrick Lamar song. Pick up a pair at Sole Academy. 

Reebok Presents: Kendrick Lamar - I am

After a bit of speculation, the spot makes it official. Reebok partners up with Kendrick Lamar for a spot that shows the Compton rapper back in his neighborhood, spitting some bars and musings on inspiration and being a figure worth looking up to. His last album garnered rave reviews and his next album is easily one of the more anticipated records of next year. But could a possible sneaker collaboration be on the way? Only time will tell. Reebok Court Victory Pump Fall 2014

Made famous back in the day by tennis pro Michael Chang, the Reebok Court Victory Pump will soon be coming back to retail. With each shoe dressed up in white and featuring assorted hits of color across each design, tennis fans of old will surely delight in the inclusion of the original colorway Chang wore when he won the French Open.

There isn't a definite release date yet, but hopefully local Reebok retailers stock these on shelves.

Reebok Pump Omni Lite "Dee Brown"

Fans of 90's basketball will remember how Dee Brown took the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest with his famous no-look dunk, but sneakerheads will be quick to point out that he did so rocking a pair of black and white Reebok Pump Omni Lites. Though this classic colorway has seen a few re-releases, retro sneaker fans will be delighted to know that they're back on local shelves once more. You can pick up limited pairs now at some specialty stores like Olympic World.

More Reebok Classics, Please.

The Reebok Shaqnosis. Unforgettable.

While many sneakerheads in the Philippines were going crazy over Nikes and Jordans in 2013, Reebok quietly pumped out a good selection of heat. While Reeboks are among the shoes favored by the Crossfit set, it's their line of classics that keeps the brand relevant among sneakerheads.

The Reebok Shaq Attaq sold out faster in the States than you could say "Shazam!". Not exactly the case here, though.

It was nice to see certain retro silos in classic and new colorways from the Allen Iverson, Shawn Kemp, and Shaquille O'Neal lines in stores, but a part of me hopes that the Reebok Classics available here extends beyond basketball.

The Reebok Question Mid "#1 Pick". One of the Reeboks I copped last year. Nicely executed tribute to a great moment in NBA history.

Take the Ventilators that re-released last year in the OG colorways. I had a pair of the ones in the picture below, and I think they'd certainly be up there in the retro runner discussion with the Asics and New Balance lovers had they only dropped here.

And while we're at it, the Classic Leather would be nice to see in local stores as well. Talk about versatility.

Simplicity. 

There's a ton of other classic Reebok models that I'd love to see in local stores and on the feet of people whenever I'm out somewhere. I love Nikes and Jordans as much as the next guy, but a little diversity would be nice to see in 2014. So if anyone from Reebok Philippines sees this, help a brother out and keep bringing in classics!
