Adidas Originals Spezial Fall 2014

Originally released in 1979 to handle the demands of indoor sports, the Adidas Spezial returns once again with a couple of clean looks for the fall season. Seen above is the "Medium Grey" colorway, nicely executed with plush suede and leather detailing. Another handsome offering comes in the form of the "Cool Navy" makeup, which really sets off the gold branding found on the sides of the shoe.

Fingers crossed either or both releases make their way to local shores, but if you want to secure your chances, both pairs are readily available at Titolo.

Vans x Hello Kitty Authentics

California skate footwear institution Vans links up once again with the iconic Sanrio character Hello Kitty. This time around, both brands bring forth a small offering of Authentics. Both done up in canvas, one design sports an old Hello Kitty print from the Sanrio archive, while the other mixes the character with a leopard print straight from the Vans archive. Philippine fans of all things kawaii will have to wait as no local release date has been set. But those interested in securing a pair as soon as possible can order a pair or two through UBIQ.

Kevin Durant is The Baddest

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant had such a bad season. And by bad, it was really really for everyone in the NBA who had the tough task of defending him. Though his team fell short on the goal of winning an NBA championship, KD managed to claim the NBA's highest individual award for the first time in his career.

There's a lot of other reasons why Kevin Durant is "The Baddest" player out there right now, but the Nike ad below should do all the talking.

Nike Kaishi

The Nike Roshe Run may dominate the conversation in terms of the brand's lifestyle runner offerings, but that hasn't stopped those under the swoosh from bringing a brand new silhouette into the mix.

Enter, the Nike Kaishi.

Sporting the breathable mesh and lightweight midsole that made the Roshe Run a hit, aerodynamic carves streamline the silhouette while the addition of details like a heel cage add a touch of support.

Will the Nike Kaishi supercede the Roshe Run and fend off major competition such as the Adidas ZX Flux as the lifestyle runner of choice? Only time will tell. In the meantime, check out more looks after the jump.

Adidas Skateboarding ZX Vulc

Adidas' running and skateboarding lines combine to introduce the ZX Vulc. The upper and midsole design borrow a few cues from heritage ZX models, while the addition of a vulcanized sole keeps the silhouette skateable. To finish it off, a ZX midsole provides lightweight, comfortable support that's always good either on or off a board.

No word yet on whether these hybrids will be making their way to local stores, but with the recent push for ZX and Originals models, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine seeing them on shelves soon. But if you can't wait, cop yours now from sites like Premier.

Take a look at another ZX Vulc colorway after the jump.

After a slew of graphic releases, Nike's Air Foamposite One silhouette comes back with a new, minimalist look.

Dubbed the "Concord" edition, the shoes sport a black Foamposite upper complemented by accents of white leather and game royal. A checkerboard pattern graces the carbon fiber shank plate, surely drawing attention to the icy blue outsole that finishes the shoes off.

Foam fiends looking to score a pair only have to wait until June 28 to pick them up. No word on whether these Foams will be hitting local stores just yet, but keep it locked on the blog to find out if ever they do.

Superga x Versus Versace 2750 Cotu Classic

Italian footwear brand Superga teams up with Versus Versace on a small collection of colorful sneakers. The first offering between the two Italian brands sees the quintessential Superga silhouette dressed up in a clashing mix of prints and details that stays true to the youthful aesthetics of the Versace diffusion line. It's certainly a pair of sneakers for those who like to live loud.

Hopefully more designs come down the pipeline in the foreseeable future. But in the meantime, expect these to drop at select Versus and Superga stores worldwide starting June 29. Retail price is $150, so if they drop in local Superga stores, you do the math.

Nike LeBron 11 "South Beach" Official Photos

The NBA's Larry O'Brien Trophy won't heading back to Miami this year, but sneakerheads and LeBron James fans from the 305 and beyond will sure be delighted with the forthcoming release of the "South Beach" LeBron 11.

Dressed up predominantly in teal and pink hues and complemented by textured palm tree overlays on the Armorposite areas, this loud and eye-catching sneaker continues the tradition set by the "South Beach" LeBron 8, arguably the sneaker that really put the LeBron line on the map.

These shoes will drop on Saturday, June 21 at both nike.com and select retail locations. No word on a local release yet, but should they drop, expect them to sell faster than Miami Heat fans can leave the arena when the home team faces a blowout.

Adidas Introduces The SL Loop

Adidas looks to the past once again to bring out a new lifestyle running silhouette, the SL Loop Runner.

Via Adidas Originals:

"When runners crossed the finish line during the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, they kicked off their spikes and laced up the “podium shoe” SL 72, a shoe designed for athletes to wear between competitions. adidas introduced the original sport lifestyle shoe designed to give athletes the proper podium footwear. The sleek, casual athletic shoe debuted along with the iconic Trefoil logo. An original was born.

The nod to the SL 72 can be seen in the SL Loop Runner through its modern take on a lightweight upper material, iconic T-toe and sculpted concave midsole. The SL Loop Runner also features a unique execution of the serrated stripes, which peel up to form the eye stays."

A "Solar Pack" marks the SL Loop's first wave of releases which will be dropping both online and at select Adidas Originals retailers sometime next month. Personally, I like the silhouette, but I'll be waiting on some more solid colored offerings. Check out the entire pack after the jump and stat tuned to the blog to find out when the SL Loop will be hitting local Adidas stores.

Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star '70 "Zebra"

Adidas Originals Stan Smith "Reflective"

In what's already been a solid year for the Adidas Stan Smith, the perennial tennis classic gets another material makeover.

This time, reflective 3M material dresses up the silhouette, while leaving room for few nifty details added on such as rope laces, contrast stitching near the forefoot areas, and a snakeskin textured heel tab to join in the mix. The combination of materials has all the trappings of a pretty flashy shoe, both literally and figuratively.

For those who can't wait to get their hands on a pair, better hook up with some UK connects, as size? already has them in stock. No word on local release details as of yet, but stay tuned to the blog for any updates.

Nike Football - "The Last Game"

With the FIFA World Cup only a few days away, the folks at Nike have gone full-tilt with their #RiskEverything campaign.

In a beautiful animated spot titled "The Last Game", soccer superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Wayne Rooney are run out of football by a group of clones perfectly engineered to not take risks. It is then up to Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) to rally all the fallen superstars and pit them against the clones in an epic winner take all match.

Plus, you'll get a glimpse of the Nike football kicks your favorite players could be lacing up in Brazil for the World Cup.

Good job Nike. Good job. Check out the entire spot after the jump.

Better Jordan Retros are On The Way.

Photo via Sole Collector

And I for one couldn't be any happier. The quality of retro Air Jordans has been a common conversation topic among sneakerheads in recent years. Most collectors agree that details such as the materials and shapes used on the re-releases of classic Jordan signatures don't exactly match up with the originals. That doesn't stop them from flying off shelves on Saturdays, but it's a definite concern given the high price Air Jordan retros command these days.

In a SoleCollector interview with Dave Shechter (VP of Jordan Footwear) and Jeff Atienza (Jordan Brand Product Line Manager),  it was revealed that "remastered" versions of Air Jordan retros will be available come Spring 2015. In a nutshell, this means that all forthcoming Jordans will be made with better materials and built as faithful to the original construction methods as humanly possible. While there's nothing wrong with better quality products entering the market, consumers will have to brace for a few unwanted effects.

1. Price
This one was pretty obvious, as the current retail value of a single pair of Air Jordans isn't cheap. With the added costs of new materials, prices are looking to increase anywhere from 10-15%.

2. Availability
Initially, only shoes in men's sizes will get the "remastered" treatment come next year. Not cool for most of the junior and lady sneakerheads out there.

As a collector, I appreciate the approach Jordan brand has taken to address the demand for better quality retros. They may get a little pricier, but the promise of better craftsmanship wins out for me in the long run. While sneakerheads have already taken their outrage to the online message boards, I think it's a lesson in disguise for teaching many within the culture to favor quality over quantity. Spending a little more for one pair of good shoes seems inconsequential compared to buying multiples of the same pair albeit made with inferior quality. But just how good the quality will be remains to be seen next year.

Stussy x Vans Spring 2014 Collection

Brands like Supreme may dominate the modern streetwear conversation, but those with true appreciation for the culture know that there wouldn't be a conversation at all if it wasn't for Stussy.

Once again, the legendary California apparel brand teams up with Vans on another round of sneakers. This time, the Style 36 LX, Era LX, and Sk8-Hi LX are adorned with original Stussy prints and graphics from the '80s and '90s, paying homage to the SoCal roots of both brands.

No word on local pricing as of yet, but Trilogy Boutique and Canteen uploaded a shot of Sk8-His on their Instagram page stating that fans can expect them to drop in their stores very soon.

Check out more pictures of this West Coast collaboration after the jump.

UPDATE (6/10/2014):

Limited quantities of both the Era LX and Sk8-Hi LX are available now at Trilogy Glorietta 3.

Prices are as follows:

Sk8-Hi LX - P3998

Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low "Michael Jackson" & "Beethoven"

Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Kobe Bryant has yet to hit the hardwood in the Kobe 9, but it looks like fans of The Black Mamba will be treated to another version of Kobe Bryant's latest sneaker.

First seen as a super-exclusive HTM release that only dropped at select stores in Italy, the low top Nike Kobe 9 Elites will be returning to retail with a more widespread release. A few design tweaks have been made for the new release, but their form remains pretty close to the HTM drop. Pictured here are the first two offerings that take their inspiration from two different musical icons.

Utilizing a hyper grape Flyknit base complemented by black and silver accents, the Kobe 9 Elite Low "Michael Jackson" pays tribute to the King of Pop. Finishing off the design is a translucent outsole featuring a graphic of the moon's surface so you can bust out a moonwalk wherever you go.

In contrast to the flashy upper of the "Michael Jackson" Elites, the "Beethoven" Kobe 9s feature a more subdued design composed primarily of black and white Flyknit. It's a fitting nod to the legendary composer and the timeless quality of his work.

The "Michael Jackson" Elites are slated to release on July 12th while the "Beethovens" will drop on August 16th at Nike.com and select Nike basketball retailers. No local release info has come down the pipeline as of yet, but given the popularity of the Kobe 9 in the country, it makes great business sense to drop these at local stores. And given how the EM lows are priced at P8495, and the Elite highs are P9995, the pricing should be a nice little middle point between the two other versions.

Check out more pictures of both shoes after the jump.

Nike KDVII "USA"

The season may have ended for NBA league MVP Kevin Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder, but the folks at Nike Basketball are already been hard at work prepping the Slim Reaper's latest on-court signature shoe.

Images have leaked on to the web showing both the mens version and what is believed to be the pre-school version of the KD VII. Pictured here is the former done up in the always patriotic "USA" colorway. Fans of the KD VI will be delighted to know that shoe number 7 continues on the low-top road without sacrificing any technological and construction improvements expected with each new iteration of any athlete's signature shoe.

The forefoot areas of the shoe employs mesh construction while the heels get beefed up for protection and stability with a Hyperposite wrap. Finishing off the upper is a midfoot cross-strap for extra lockdown.

The "USA" KD VII is slated to release on June 28, with a number of other colorways to follow shortly after. Stay tuned to the blog for more info, and check out other looks after the jump.
