Adidas Stan Smith Primeknit

Since its return to the retail front early this year, the Adidas Stan Smith has been getting a good share of mentions up in this space. And for good reason, as these tennis classics fall into the esteemed category of sneakers that enjoy widespread appeal among core sneaker collectors and the fashion conscious set. As the halfway point of 2014 comes around, a fair amount of colorways and brand collaborations have hit the market. It's been released in a couple of different materials as well, but none quite like this one.

Judging from these images that recently hit the net, the Primeknit Stan Smiths put out a literal new spin on the heritage model. Save for some minor tweaks in the heel area, the fully knitted upper doesn't deviate from the shape of the original model too much to cause an uproar from purists. Despite the change in construction, the signature perforated three-stripe branding is still visible. And despite the knit sneaker conversation being dominated by another brand (hint: rhymes with "slyknit"), reinvigorating old things with new ways of thinking is always a welcome idea.

There's no release date yet, but stick with the blog as more information is sure to come down the pipeline eventually. In the meantime, you can check out more looks after the jump.

Nike Flyknit Roshe Run

It was bound to happen.

The Nike Roshe Run has enjoyed its status among casual sneakers that appeal to a wide group of consumers. It's safe to argue that both hardcore shoe collectors and non-sneakerheads alike can appreciate the Roshe Run's marriage of minimalist design and maximum possible comfort.

Since 2012, a number of variations have hit the market. Stiff competition has emerged as well, most notably in the form of the Adidas ZX Flux. But this latest version looks to keep the Roshe Running well into next year.

Utilizing a fully knit upper and sitting on a Phylon Natural Motion sole, the Flyknit Roshe Run looks to be the latest addition into the already huge Roshe Run family tree. You'll have to wait a little while to get your feet in them though. Because barring any early releases on this side of the world, retailers are going to be getting them in stores come Spring 2015.

Check out other colorways after the jump.

Converse Chuck Taylor '70 All-Star High "Camo"

Fashion trends are a funny thing. Some enjoy white hot moments of cool only to burn out of style almost instantly. While there are others that manage to stick around, but run the risk of getting horribly overplayed. Take camouflage. For a while, you couldn't walk into a fast fashion store or peep a streetwear brand's lookbook without seeing a camo piece or three.

Opening Tomorrow: Sole Slam QC

Over time, the Katipunan area of has become a hotbed for sneaker connoisseurs in Quezon City. Sole Academy's first branch opened up right across KFC and continues to hold down the lifestyle sneaker end, while Titan looks out for all the ballers and basketball shoe collectors.

Now, another player looks to set up shop in this growing hub of sneakers up north. Far from being a relatively new name in the local scene, Antonio Aguirre Jr. and partners are opening up Sole Slam Manila QC, which will be housed on the second floor of the FBR Arcade building. That's the building with Yellow Cab out front for those not too familiar with the area. And to celebrate the opening which is happening tomorrow, they're looking to give out 50 Opening Day shirts and a chance to win up to P10,000 store credits! That's a pretty big deal considering the heat their BF store peddles on the regular. Then again, when the Sole Slam name runs the premier sneaker show not only in the country but in the entire Asia region, you gotta expect big things.

Come through tomorrow and celebrate another milestone for the Philippine sneaker scene!
