5 Shoe Picks From The Capital Launch

Capital is a new sneaker store that recently opened its doors in UP Town Center. Operating with the promise of creating a new shoe movement in mind, the good people behind the brand are committed to establishing it as a destination for a new generation of sneakerheads.

I got lucky to be invited to the store's launch yesterday, so I brought my girlfriend to check it out with me. Aside from getting to know some of the folks behind the concept, I got a first hand look at the stuff they'd be bringing to the table.

The store carries a wide range of brands to satisfy the needs of different kinds of sneaker fiends. Expect to see staples like Nike and Adidas sharing shelf space with offerings from labels like Fred Perry. You might see some exclusive and limited edition stuff mixed in with some general releases, but do expect bigger releases and an even wider product range in the future. From what I saw, there was a good amount of heat on up for grabs, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll be dropping in the future. Read on below to check out 5 shoes that I think are worth copping right now at Capital.

1. Adidas Tubular X Primeknit

The original Adidas Tubular made waves with its futuristic design, but the Tubular X literally takes it to new heights and gives the silhouette a nice premium touch with the use of Primeknit.

2. Adidas Pure Boost

It took a while for the Adidas Pure Boost to hit these shores, but hey! They're finally here, and probably won't stay on shelves very long.

3. Nike Cortez "Tech Fleece" Pack

The Nike Cortez is an institution in Nike's running heritage, and the use of Tech Fleece on the upper gives these shoes a extra cozy touch.

4. Nike Roshe Run NM Flyknit "Calypso"

It could be argued that the Nike Roshe Run hit a plateau a little while back, but the "Calypso" colorway is always a hit with serious Roshe heads. The Flyknit upper and the use of the Natural Motion sole don't hurt, either.

5. Nike Air Max 95 "Neon Safari"

Neon is an iconic colorway in the Air Max 95 line. But the addition of subtle safari print details will keep the OG-fiends happy, but curious enough to do a double take.

Capital is located at the 3rd floor of the UP Town Center.
